MI | IPL 2015 | Mumbai Indians Team Preview:
MI was the champions of the Indian Premier League 2013. But they failed to defend their title in 2014. They finished fourth last season. They lost the Eliminator game against Chennai Super Kings.
Mumbai Indians are undoubtedly one of the strongest teams on paper this season. The team in blue is coached by Australian legend Ricky Ponting. The team retained their 16 players including Lasith Malinga, Kieron Pollard, Ambati Rayudu, Corey Anderson, Rohit Sharma and Harbhajan Singh.
Mi has an incredible batting unit. At the top, Aaron Finch, Aiden Blizzard, Lendl Simmons and Rohit Sharma can give an explosive start. Ambati Rayudu and Unmukt Chand can provide the fluidic stability. Corey Anderson and Keiron Pollard are capable enough to destroy any bowling attack at the death. Even Harbhajan Singh can come in handy in slog overs. They also have good Indian allrounders like Nitish Rana, Sidhesh Lad, J Suchith and Hardik Pandya. Aditya Tare and Parthiv Patel are decent wicket keeper/ batsmen options.
MI also has a terrific bowling lineup. Lasith Malinga is their spear head in the fast bowling department. He is followed by quality overseas pacers like Josh Hazlewood, Marchant de Lange and Mitchell McClenaghan. They also have good Indian fast bowlers like Vinay Kumar, Pawan Suyal, Jasprit Bumrah and Abhimanyu Mithun. Corey Anderson, Kieron Pollard, Aiden Blizzard and Rohit Sharma cab be handy with the ball as well. In the spin department they have Harbhajan Singh, Shreyas Gopal and Pragyan Ojha to do the wonders.
